The medical Center "Espoir Littoral"

The medical Center "Espoir Littoral" was born because of the obvious and pressing need to offer to an extremely poor population a structure which would be able to give them basic cares with a little bit of dignity and decency.

The sector Mother and Child being one of the most sensitive, the Espoir littoral Clinic made of it its main target. It consists in providing the follow-up of the pregnancy, taking charge of the deliveries and of the care fot the new-born.

But general and tropical medecine with the scourges of malaria and AIDS, is a reality which can't be denied, and an attention by means of specialized lookups, scheduled surgeries and a targeted sensitsation.

For practical purposes, since 2002, the Medical Center Espoir Littoral has worked by the iron will of its idea-man and Chief Doctor, Wenceslao Mansogo.

After fifteen years of studies and exercise in the teaching hospital in Saint-Etienne (France), Dr Mansogo, gynaecologist obstetrician choosed to come back to his country with the aim to exercise "his art for the exclusive benefit of his patients"

With an equipment made by Espoir sans Frontières, the Espoir Littoral Clinic also offers the skills of a reliable medical staff and regularly trained  by Dr. Mansogo, as well as the presence of french volunteer expatriates for period going between 2 and 6 months.

The quality of Patients' reception, the quality of cares and the respect of sicks are the main targets.

The Center's fees were studied to create a balance between running costs, investments and the users' purchasing power.

Our projects and actions.

Since 2008, the Espoir Littoral Clinic and Espoir sans Frontières has worked jointly on the project of the medical Center's activities development.
The objectives are numerous and are linked with the capacity to increase patients' reception in consultation and hospitalization, to improve the medical care by the creation of new services (emergency) and the supply of diagnostic tools (radiology device, test robots), to reinforce the local skills by trainigs in medical adn administrative yields, and above all, to build a new building adapted to the Clinic's activity.

This fantastic challenge made, it will be possible to plan a lot of  microprojects as a nutrition programme for ill children and a care for the new-born babies from seropositive mothers.
